Another Kmart trip 10/31

I went to Kmart again today. I had a couple of coupons that expired today.
This time I did extensive planning.

This time I had over 78% savings!
I spent $5.78 on all of these things!
It would of been $1 less but I could not resist the $1 Arizona ice tea.

Now that I got all I need, I will be shopping again tomorrow to buy things for my sister-in-law and cousin with my left over coupons.

I am truly addicted to coupons now!

I went to the Kmart in N. Miami and it was much nicer than the one in Pembroke Pines.
They are also alot faster and friendlier. This Kmart was one I went to often when I was a kid. It has been remolded since I have been there last over 10 years ago. They use to have a deli where you got our Icee!!

Free Entry to Museums for Bank of America card holders

Kmart deals

I haven't shopped in Kmart in a very very long time.

Now that I have been couponing, there are some good deals when Kmart has their double coupon deal. They will double any coupon $2 or less. If the coupon is $2, that is $4 saving.
If the item is less or equal than the double amount, it becomes free.

There are couple of blogs that have a listing of coupon matchup.
Check out the deal lady of examples of cheap or free items.

I read that they do not accept internet coupons so start saving thoses Sunday paper coupons for when the next sale occurs.

I am going to try to go tomorrow and see what I can get for cheap or free.
I will post my finding tomorrow.

Using coupons, saving alot!

Lately I have been planning my purchasing and doing research on the best sales and coupon matchups. There are several site that are created by moms that help with this. Many items they mention I don't use but the ones I do, I have saved alot and sometime getting items for free.

I have been collection coupons for almost 4 weeks. I collect the coupons from the Sunday paper and also from instore coupons at Publix. I also look for coupons by the items and collect the ones I normally use.

I got a great tip from Iheartcvs.com, from the article "collecting & organizing coupons"
I don't go as far a purchasing several copies of the Sunday paper, instead I ask family members for their extra coupons. I also look for extra coupons when I place my newspaper in the recycle area in my condo. Sometime I score 2 more sets of coupons.

Below are sites that I check prior to my weekly shopping:

For general savings: Money saving Mom
For savings at Publix: Fiddledeedee
For Publix coupons listings: Publix Coupon booklets from hotcouponworld.com
For savings at CVS: Iheartcvs

If you live in S. Fla, a cheaper way to purchase the Sunday paper if you don't want to subscribe to it; is if you purchase the Sun-Sentinel in Dade County it is $1.00 instead of $1.50 or the Miami Hearld in Broward County. There are several newpaper boxes around but you will need to get there early.

Since I have doing this I have saved at least 50% off of my transactions.

The Publix savings is straight forward but the CVS one can be a bit tricky since they use Extra Bucks as part of some of their sales. The key is split your purchases and to roll over the Extra Bucks into the next purchase and combine them with coupons. I was surprised to see what I can purchase with only $5. Check out the CVS $5 Challenge from kingdomfirstmom. I go through the other bloggers comment to get ideas on what combinations are good for me.

I am not a stay at home mom but I am a person who likes to save money especially how the economy is going now a days. I don't need to stock up on items but by using the tips from these moms I do save more than I ever had in the past. The hardest part is to only purchase what you need or use.

Thanks to all these hard working moms for creating and maintaining these blogs!

Cheap meal idea from Publix.

This week Publix has spagetti sauce and pasta on sale.

Classico Pasta Sauce is BOGO, plus there is a coupon in Publix in the pamphlet named "Toss for Cash" for $1.00 off 2. This works out to $1.85 for 2 jars of sauce.

Ronzoni Pasta is also BOGO. For 2 it works out to be about $1.47

2 sauces and 2 pasta for under $4.00!!

My meal idea is to make stuffed shells.
Ronzoni large shells, 1 jar of Classicio Pasta Sauce, Soreento Ricotta Cheese (on sale 2 for $6), Sargento Cheese (on sale 2 for $6), and Publix frozen spinach.
For dessert Luigi's Real Italian Ice (BOGO), $3.19 for 2 boxes.
